This article discusses the ideas about gender contained in Enseñanzas Sufíes Para Los Tiempos Actuales, a text by Abdul Rauf Felpete, leader of Naqshbandiyya Haqqaniyya Latin America, probably largest Sufi group continent. I analyse these against backdrop context which they were produced: on one hand, conservative Islamic frame inspired Nazim al-Haqqani’s ideas, and other, an Argentinian society that was incurring profound gender-related societal changes at time when shaykh delivered sermons book. historical moment characterised growing feminist LGTBQ+ activism arrival progressive government Argentina, over time, positioned this American country vanguard sexual equality rights Spanish speaking world.
